# Noorlight — Photo, video and drone shoots across the UAE

## Places

- [Dubai](https://www.noorlight.cc/destinations/dubai.md) — Dubai is six photo locations forty minutes apart, and the drive between them is the part of the session nobody budgets for.
  - [Downtown Dubai](https://www.noorlight.cc/destinations/downtown-dubai.md) — Seen from the Souk Al Bahar side, Burj Khalifa stands to the north-west — lit from the front at sunrise, backlit at sunset, and surrounded by a crowd from six in the evening.
  - [Dubai Marina](https://www.noorlight.cc/destinations/dubai-marina.md) — The Marina is a canal between towers, which means it is in shade most of the day and only looks like the photographs for half an hour after sunset — while JBR beach, two hundred metres away, is a sunrise location.
  - [Palm Jumeirah](https://www.noorlight.cc/destinations/palm-jumeirah.md) — The Palm’s shape only exists from above, and from the ground it is a series of private hotels — so a session here is built from the few public edges: The Pointe, the crescent boardwalk, West Beach and the water.
  - [Old Dubai](https://www.noorlight.cc/destinations/old-dubai.md) — The lanes of Al Fahidi are barely two metres wide and empty at seven in the morning; by ten they are a tour route, and by noon the coral walls throw back heat like an oven.
  - [Dubai Desert](https://www.noorlight.cc/destinations/dubai-desert.md) — The red dunes at Lahbab, the pale sand at Al Qudra and the protected reserve are three different deserts with three different sets of rules, and a summer session in any of them ends forty minutes after sunrise.
  - [Jumeirah](https://www.noorlight.cc/destinations/jumeirah.md) — From Sunset Beach the Burj Al Arab stands to the south-west: front-lit at sunrise, side-lit in the evening, and never quite in line with the setting sun — it goes down to the right of the tower even in December.
- [Abu Dhabi](https://www.noorlight.cc/destinations/abu-dhabi.md) — Abu Dhabi’s best locations are institutions — a mosque, a palace, a museum — and each one decides for itself what a camera may do inside it.
- [Sharjah](https://www.noorlight.cc/destinations/sharjah.md) — Sharjah has a public decency law that covers what you wear and how close you stand, and it is the first thing a session here is planned around.
- [Ras Al Khaimah](https://www.noorlight.cc/destinations/ras-al-khaimah.md) — Ras Al Khaimah has the beach and the country’s highest mountain forty minutes apart, and the mountain runs ten degrees cooler.
- [Fujairah](https://www.noorlight.cc/destinations/fujairah.md) — Fujairah faces east onto the Gulf of Oman: the sun rises out of the sea and sets early behind the mountains, which is the reverse of everywhere else in the country.
- [Ajman](https://www.noorlight.cc/destinations/ajman.md) — Ajman is the smallest emirate and the quietest beach on the west coast, half an hour from Dubai, and the quiet is what you are booking.
- [Hatta](https://www.noorlight.cc/destinations/hatta.md) — Hatta is Dubai’s mountain town, ninety minutes inland, and the turquoise dam everyone has seen is only bright when the sun is high enough to reach the water.
- [Al Ain](https://www.noorlight.cc/destinations/al-ain.md) — Al Ain is inland and dry, so the coastal haze that flattens every summer photograph in Dubai is simply absent — and the oasis gives shade at the hours the coast has none.
- [Liwa Oasis](https://www.noorlight.cc/destinations/liwa.md) — Liwa is three hours from Abu Dhabi on the edge of the Empty Quarter, so the shoot is an overnight trip — and the dunes are untouched in a way that no desert near Dubai still is.
