## The court, then the city

Abu Dhabi’s civil family court marries non-Muslim couples of any nationality, visitors on a tourist visa included, and the ceremony itself is short — around fifteen minutes. With the express service the certificate can be issued on the same day. That is why the photography is booked for three hours: the arrival and the signing, then the rest of the afternoon for portraits once the paperwork is done and you can relax.

Whether a camera is allowed in the ceremony room depends on the court on the day, so we plan for both: if not, the strongest frames are on the steps and walking out with the certificate. From there the Corniche, Qasr Al Hosn and the outside of the Louvre Abu Dhabi are each within about twenty minutes. The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque allows professional cameras only with a permit from its media centre and requires modest dress, so we treat it as an option to arrange, not a default.

You receive 150 edited photos in a private gallery within three weeks.

## Frequently asked questions

### What happens at the court, and can you photograph it?

The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department’s civil family court marries foreigners, tourists included, with no religious requirement. The ceremony itself is short — usually fifteen to thirty minutes — and couples may bring guests and a photographer into the room. We cover your arrival, the vows and signing, and the certificate. Paperwork and the appointment are yours to book; send us the time once it is confirmed.

### Where are the portraits taken afterwards?

Usually the Corniche or the beach on Saadiyat, both a short drive from the court, or the outside of Qasr Al Watan if you book tickets. A morning ceremony leaves a gap before good light, so many couples book the court for late morning, have lunch, and start portraits around two hours before sunset.
