## Direction, not posing

Most couples who book have never been photographed together by someone else, and the stiff results they fear come from standing still. The session is built on movement — walking, turning, talking — with small prompts rather than fixed poses, so even the first few minutes give natural frames instead of a warm-up. Twenty edited photos come out of the 30 minutes, mixing wide frames with the setting and close ones where the place disappears.

Public affection is a real consideration here. Holding hands is fine anywhere; kissing belongs in private settings — hotel grounds, a yacht, an empty stretch of beach at sunrise — rather than on the Dubai Mall promenade. That is why sunrise sessions on the Jumeirah coast and sunset in the desert are popular with couples: no crowd, no audience, and soft low light. In winter the beach at Jumeirah is busiest after 4 pm, so a sunset there means working around families.

The private gallery arrives within 48 to 72 hours.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is it all right to kiss in public photographs here?

Holding hands and an arm round the shoulder are fine anywhere. Kissing and closer poses are kept for the beach at sunrise, the desert or a hotel terrace — public displays of affection are frowned on in the UAE, and during Ramadan daytime behaviour in public is expected to be more reserved still.

### We are not comfortable in front of a camera.

Almost nobody is. The first few minutes are spent walking and talking, and very little from them is kept; by the time the light is at its best you have stopped noticing the camera.
