## Comfort first, then the pictures

The weeks that work best are usually 28 to 34: the bump shows clearly and travelling is still comfortable, though many airlines ask for a medical certificate from around 29 weeks, so check yours before booking the trip. Heat is the main risk here. In summer the session is booked for sunrise, and in any season there is shade and water a few steps away. Thirty minutes is a comfortable length, with a rest still built in; nobody stands on hot sand for long.

Long dresses in a single colour photograph best against dunes or the sea, and a skirt with some length catches the evening breeze on the beach. If you would rather skip sand altogether, the waterfront at Al Seef or a hotel terrace works as well and keeps the car close. Partners join for part of the session; the 20 edited photos usually divide between portraits alone and together.

The private gallery arrives within 48 to 72 hours, retouched to keep skin looking like skin.

### When in the pregnancy is best?

Between about 28 and 34 weeks, when the bump shows clearly and a flight home is still straightforward. From May to September we book only the first hour after sunrise: the dunes at sunset in summer are no place to be pregnant.
