## In short

A yacht photoshoot in Dubai Marina starts from $250 for the photographer: 30 minutes of shooting on deck during your charter, timed to the last light before sunset, and 20 edited photos in a private gallery within 48–72 hours. The boat itself is paid to the operator; we can book it for you.

A yacht out of Dubai Marina is the most scenic half hour in the city: the canal and its towers, JBR, Bluewaters and Ain Dubai, then Atlantis and the Palm, all passing the deck on one charter. The thirty minutes we shoot are the last before sunset, when the light is warm on the skyline and soft on faces, with a few frames planned against each landmark. The charter is booked separately and we can arrange it; we board ninety minutes before sunset, and in winter that slot goes first.

## How the shoot is planned

You board at Dubai Marina Yacht Club or Pier 7, and the slow run down the canal is for settling in, fixing hair and checking which outfit goes first — the photographer only warms up here. The thirty minutes properly begin once the boat clears the breakwater. First come frames on the bow with the JBR towers stacked behind you, then the captain swings the boat so Bluewaters and the observation wheel fill the background. The last ten minutes are off Atlantis, with the boat holding position while the sun drops. The photographer moves between the stern and the upper deck and tells the captain when to turn, so each landmark sits behind you rather than off to one side.

## Timing

Plan the boarding around the sunset time, not a round hour. From November to March the sun goes down at roughly 5:30–6:15 pm, the air on deck is cool and Atlantis is sharp across the water, which is why those evening charters are taken weeks ahead. In summer the sunset slot still works on the water, but humidity turns the horizon milky, so the frames lean on faces and the deck rather than the distant skyline. The winter shamal is the real risk: a day of it makes the open sea rough, and if the captain calls the sailing off we move the date rather than shoot through the swell.

## Frequently asked questions

### How much does a yacht photoshoot in Dubai Marina cost in total?

The photography is from $250 and covers 30 minutes on board, editing and 20 photos. The charter is a separate bill from the boat operator: boats are usually hired by the hour with a minimum of around two hours, and the rate depends on size and the date. We quote the charter when you book, at the operator’s price.

### Should we sail from Dubai Marina or Dubai Harbour?

Dubai Marina Yacht Club and Pier 7 give you the canal and the towers on the way out and back, which is worth having if the charter is two hours. Dubai Harbour sits closer to the Palm, so the boat reaches Atlantis within minutes and a short charter spends more of its time on the frames you came for. Larger yachts tend to berth there too.

### What should I wear for a yacht photoshoot in Dubai?

On deck you will be in flat shoes or barefoot, so pick an outfit that works without heels. Light, flowing fabric photographs beautifully against the sea, but past the breakwater the wind catches it — bring a clip for a long dress and tie back loose hair between frames. Two looks are enough for thirty minutes; you can change in the cabin during the canal run.

### Can we get a short video from the yacht as well?

Yes. The reel add-on, $120, gives one vertical reel of 30–60 seconds filmed between the photographs and delivered in 3–5 days. If you want a proper film of the evening — wake, wind and the towers going by — book the yacht video as well, and a videographer comes on board alongside the photographer.
