Ten hours covers a whole destination wedding: preparation in the morning, a first look, the ceremony, family groups, portraits of the two of you and the reception through the speeches and first dance. The schedule is built backwards from sunset. Between November and March an outdoor ceremony can sit an hour before sunset, when guests are comfortable and the light is kind to everyone; in summer it is still 38–40 °C after 5 pm, so most couples move the vows indoors or under a shaded terrace.

Hotels run most destination weddings here, and each has its own rules on outside photographers, set-up times and where cameras may go — ballroom, beach and rooftop are often separate permissions. We talk to the hotel’s wedding team weeks ahead rather than meeting them on the day. With guests flying in from several countries, group photos matter more than usual; the list is agreed beforehand so it takes twenty minutes, not an hour.

You receive 500 edited photos in a private gallery within three weeks.

Frequently asked questions: Destination wedding photographer

When should the ceremony be?

About an hour and a half before sunset, so portraits fall in the last light rather than overhead sun. And book November to March: an outdoor wedding in July means guests in 40 °C and make-up that does not last the ceremony.
