Every commercial drone flight in Dubai needs a licensed operator and approval for that specific flight, and approvals take time — book at least two weeks ahead, because a last-minute request may simply not be cleared. The operator handles the application; you choose from locations where flying is realistic, which in practice means the desert, Hatta, the mountains of Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah, and coastal stretches away from airports. The Downtown skyline and the Palm are, for most flights, off the table.
One hour of flying produces a 60–90 second cinematic film and a 30-second vertical reel. In the heat a battery lasts roughly twenty minutes, so the hour is planned as three or four flights, each with a specific shot — a reveal over a dune ridge, a slow orbit, a tracking run along a road or a car. Low sun is what gives aerial footage depth, so flights sit in the first or last hour of daylight. The reel arrives in 3 to 5 days and the film in 2 to 3 weeks.

Frequently asked questions: Drone video
Can you fly over the Burj Khalifa or the Palm?
No, not for a private booking. Downtown, the Palm and the airspace around Dubai’s airports are restricted, and approval there is rarely granted outside large commercial productions. The flight permit is ours to obtain from the GCAA and, in Dubai, the DCAA; we fly where approval is realistic — the desert, Hatta, the mountains of Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah — and tell you at booking if the location you have in mind is not possible.
Do you film us, or just the landscape?
Both. The best aerials have a person in them for scale — walking a ridge, standing by the car — and we plan the shots so you know where to be when the drone passes.
